To capture that just-right ratio of cooling mint to chocolate depth, our chocolatiers set out experimenting. They found our signature 70% dark chocolate harmonised best with the cooling notes of peppermint – for which, naturally, we turned to our favourite peppermint oil from the vast, unspoiled Tasmanian landscape.

With the recipe perfected, we needed a presentation that would do it justice. This 500ml serving of Mint Velvetised Cream comes in an elegant bottle embellished with raised waves. Designed exclusively for Velvetised Creams, the organic shape was inspired by the process of velvetising, with each bottle also made from 50% recycled glass.

It was our passion for cacao that led to the creation of our Velvetised Creams, at our Saint Lucian cacao farm and bar – Rabot Estate. Here, amongst the leafy cacao groves, our chocolatiers first set out to craft an interpretation of a chocolate liqueur that would capture the perfect balance of cacao and alcohol. They experimented with many pairings, but it was the crisp profile of vodka that complemented the delicate cacao notes best, while other spirits overpowered them. So, the original recipe was born of an alchemy of chocolate, vodka and cream. From there, we crafted a further few carefully considered recipes with high quality ingredients, including Salted Caramel, Espresso Martini, and this Mint recipe.
